Helping Customers Regain Control of Their Finances

Household finances continue to be under pressure across the UK. Rising living costs, higher interest rates and increased borrowing have left many families juggling multiple credit commitments simply to maintain their standard of living.

For many customers, the issue isn't a lack of income—it's that numerous unsecured credit agreements, credit cards and personal loans have become difficult to manage. Monthly commitments continue to increase, leaving little disposable income and making it increasingly difficult to plan for the future.

In these circumstances, many customers turn to their bank or existing mortgage lender for help, only to discover that their current lender is unable or unwilling to provide a suitable solution.

That's where Chaseblue can help.

A Different Approach

At Chaseblue, we specialise in complex lending scenarios. Working with financial intermediaries across the UK, we help customers explore whether a second charge mortgage could provide a suitable solution where debt consolidation forms part of the overall advice recommendation.

Every recommendation is individually assessed. We review every credit commitment in detail, calculate the total cost of borrowing both before and after consolidation, and discuss the advantages and disadvantages openly with the customer.

Debt consolidation is not suitable for everyone. In some cases it can increase the overall amount repayable because unsecured borrowing is repaid over a longer period. Where this is the case, we ensure the customer fully understands the implications and only proceed where the overall recommendation is demonstrably in their best interests.

Our role is not simply to arrange finance, but to provide clear, balanced advice that supports informed decision-making.

Case Study – The Smith Family

The Smith family approached their mortgage adviser after finding it increasingly difficult to manage their monthly finances.

Although both were in full-time employment, years of gradually accumulating unsecured borrowing had left them making repayments across several credit cards, personal loans and finance agreements. By the time essential household expenditure had been taken into account, they had just £42 per month remaining.

The constant financial pressure had become a significant source of stress. Every unexpected expense resulted in further borrowing, creating a cycle that appeared increasingly difficult to escape.

Their existing mortgage lender declined to assist due to the level of unsecured commitments, and their bank was unable to offer a suitable alternative. Their adviser subsequently referred the case to Chaseblue.

Following a detailed review of the family's circumstances, income, expenditure and future plans, our adviser concluded that a second charge mortgage could provide an appropriate long-term solution.

The recommendation enabled the majority of their unsecured borrowing to be consolidated into a single affordable monthly payment, providing greater financial stability whilst allowing the family to maintain a positive payment history with the intention of remortgaging in the future.

Throughout the advice process, every existing debt was reviewed individually. The total cost of borrowing was carefully compared against the proposed consolidation, ensuring the customers fully understood both the benefits and the longer-term costs before making an informed decision.

The recommendation increased the family's monthly disposable income from £42 to £986, reducing their monthly financial commitments by over £940. Whilst the overall cost of some borrowing increased due to the longer repayment period, the advice provided the financial breathing space the family needed to regain control of their finances and avoid further borrowing.

Perhaps more importantly, it removed a significant amount of day-to-day financial anxiety and gave the family a clear plan to improve their overall financial position, with the aim of reviewing their mortgage options again in the coming years.

Expert Advice That Makes a Difference

Our advisers are trained to look beyond simply arranging finance.

Every recommendation considers affordability, sustainability, future plans and the customer's overall objectives. We take the time to understand each client's circumstances, explain the advantages and disadvantages of every available option, and ensure any recommendation is suitable for their individual needs.

This customer-focused approach helps ensure every case receives the level of care and attention it deserves.
